The Climbs

We truly believe that our region has the most incredible climbing opportunities in all of Spain! Nestled in the stunning Alpujarras, between the breathtaking Sierra Nevada and Sierra Contraviesa, this landscape is a climber's dream come true. A steady climb to start but the flat bits end with 14km still to go. At 33kms in total length La Ragua starts off steady giving a few downhill sections and amazing views. Finishing at 2000 mts high the altitude is making you work quite hard.

At 22 km long with 950 mts height gain, we usually split this into two for the entertaining cafe stop in Turón. The first 8 km are steady with amazing views back over the lake. The second part of the climb turns into more of a test with the last 1.5 km being the hardest.

The smoothest road you will ever ride on with lots of lovely hairpins. Only 9 km in length but a very pretty climb. There are no other cycling companies offering this climb so come and try something different.

Starting in the river bed just below the village of Torvizcón this 14km climb is a guest favourite. A constant steady gradient for the most part with a real sting in the tail for the last 3 km.

One of our weekly climbs to the fantastic cafe stop at Haza Del Lino. It gets super tough half way up but then gives you your first downhill break. 15 km 648 mt height gain.

A very popular climb in the area being used by many cyclists coming from Granada for a club run and also used in La Vuelta España. A long climb with a lot of variation and finishing at one of the highest villages in Spain Trevélez.

10 km long, steep, and if the almond blossom is out, very pretty. As featured in Spain's best 100 climbs book. It is used in a local sportive so there are some fast times to challenge yourself against.

Experience the thrill of the highest paved road in Europe! Spanning an incredible 37 kilometers and soaring to a breathtaking height of 3,200 meters, this adventure is not to be missed! Pico de veleta

Only 9km long but very tough. You will recognise a few pro names near the top of the leader board. Finishing in the pretty village of Laroles with incredible views back down the mountain.

A 16 km climb with a 1200 mt height gain, eek. Traditionally used for the first race of the year by the Andalucian cycling federation where the winners win their weight in wine, hence the name.

Get ready for an exhilarating 18 km climb that boasts an impressive 893 meters of elevation gain! This breathtaking route winds its way up at a steady gradient, offering stunning views of the Mediterranean throughout the journey. And the best part? It wraps up right in front of a café, perfect for celebrating your achievement!

This is a tough one. Always too hot, never in the right gear...whats not to like. 16 km with 1085 mts gain. It's recently been resurfaced which makes it a bit more inviting. The sea views nearly make up for the suffering.
